System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian has partnered with Gibson to release a highly limited edition instrument celebrating his diverse artistic endeavors.

The Gibson Serj Tankian Foundations Les Paul Modern was unveiled yesterday at an exclusive, invitation-only event held at Tankian’s Eye For Sound Art Gallery, nestled within the Kavat Café coffee shop in Los Angeles.
Foundations
This unique package, limited to just 25 guitars, is inspired by Tankian’s recent “Foundations” EP on Gibson Records and represents a collaboration within Gibson Custom’s esteemed artist series. It aims to showcase Tankian’s creativity across music, visual art, and literature.
This Les Paul boasts an Ultra-Modern weight-relieved mahogany body, topped with a stunning AAA figured maple cap.
The maple cap features a striking sublimation print of Tankian’s artwork “Sunburst,” which also graces his EP cover.
The guitar features a comfortable mahogany neck with a SlimTaper profile and a Modern Contoured Heel, ensuring effortless access to the upper frets. The compound radius ebony fretboard is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays.
Burstbucker Pro
The guitar is powered by a Burstbucker Pro in the neck position and a hotter Burstbucker Pro + in the bridge, both featuring sleek black nickel covers.
Push/pull controls offer coil tap, phase switching, and a Pure Bypass option, providing a wide array of tonal possibilities.
Hardware includes a Graph Tech nut, Grover Locking Rotomatic tuners with Keystone buttons, and an aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge paired with an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece.
Limited Edition
Each guitar is personally signed and numbered (1-25) by Serj Tankian on the back of the headstock and comes with a protective hardshell case.
The “Foundations” package offers a curated collection of signed memorabilia and an exclusive experience.
Purchasers will receive a signed vinyl copy of Serj’s “Foundations” EP, a signed edition of his memoir “Down With The System,” and a signed 18 x 24” museum-quality print of his “Sunburst” artwork.
Adding a special touch for fans, the package also includes a pair of VIP tickets to a System Of A Down concert of the buyer’s choosing from a selection of six dates: two in New York City, two in Chicago, and two in Toronto.
This limited-edition’ Foundations’ Les Paul Modern is a small run and will appeal to collectors and System Of A Down fans.
