Now in Public Beta!
[5 August 2025] Serato DJ 4.0 gets an all-new, redesigned library and more. Download the massive new public beta now.
Serato DJ 4.0
Oh, happy day. Serato DJ Pro 4.0 and Serato DJ Lite 4.0 are here, and the company is calling it the “biggest update yet to the software’s library interface.” Additionally, many of the updates have been done directly at the request of users, so if there’s something you’ve been hankering for in your Serato, it might be included in the update, which is now in public beta.

Crate Management
The big talking point for Serato DJ 4.0 is the all-new, redesigned library, particularly the streamlining of crate management.

First up, you can now search, organize, and filter crates more seamlessly, with new advanced crate searching and filtering tools to search and sort crates as well as display what crate a certain track is in. (Note that the search function is not available in Serato DJ Lite 4.0.)
There are other new crate functions as well. You can favorite crates and create shortcuts to them, and color-code crates for visual organization. Additionally, crate duration, size, and track count information is now displayed in the library interface.

What’s more, you can now put both local files and streaming tracks into the same crate.
Update 4.0 also integrates right-click features to allow quick and easy access to crate actions and options.
New Track Functionality
Along with crate management, Serato DJ 4.0 adds a wealth of new functionality related to tracks, most notably the ability to analyze tracks with hardware connected. Tracks can now continue to analyze BPM, key, and length, all while staying connected to hardware. The update also adds automatic track analysis, with track DNA analysis happening upon import.

Additional new track functionality allows you to personalize tracks with a custom rating column, including emojis.
Serato DJ 4.0: Now Available
Serato DJ Pro 4.0 and Serato DJ Lite 4.0 are now available to download in the forum. As mentioned before, this is a public beta, so expect bugs. If the idea of DJing with beta DJ software makes you nervous, maybe hold off until you know for certain that it’s performance-ready.

I really like the software and love to use it.
been waiting for this so Long
It is good to use but don’t use it live. It crashed on me at the end of my show. I love the Analyze feature while you are DJing and Rating With Emojis is cool. Still have to work out some bugs it was very slow to go through my library too. My efects on my Pioneer Rev7 was all out of sync too. Great to test out but use again in the near future when it is on the Serato.com site.
That is some hideous software. First thing I thought was, “That can’t be real.” Looks like a Windows designer’s first/rough draft, circa 1996.
New serato 4.0 beta is good for us
