The Rhodes Vari-Amp plugin allows you to sculpt your sound with a choice of legendary preamps, amplifiers, and microphone emulations.
Rhodes Music has used its analogue modelling technology to develop an authentic multi-effects processor that expands the sonic range of any instrument in your DAW. Naturally, the Vari-Amp plugin pairs perfectly with keyboards and guitars, but you can also apply its warm effects palette to synths, drums, vocals, or your entire mix.

Processing starts with a choice of six different preamp models, but you can engage EQ and saturation settings at this stage, and the wet/dry mix control lets you dial back the processing for a more balanced sound. Next, you can combine seven different amp models with seven classic microphones, which gives you a wide sonic range.
The amp gain control lets you add extra grit and dirt to the signal, and once again, the wet/dry mix control allows parallel processing at this stage, so you can balance the processed and unprocessed signals. To shape the dynamics, there is a simple compressor section with compression amount, makeup gain, and mix controls.
This lets you quickly find a setting that suits your performance, so that the high and low notes maintain a consistent volume. In addition, there is a reverb section, with four reverb types, including spring, plate, room, and hall, as well as decay time, mix amount, pre-delay, and high and low cut filters.
Finally, there is a global 3-band parametric EQ section to ensure your sound is sitting where you want it in the mix. Overall, the Vari-Amp provides a unique range of processing with a fluid workflow, and each module can be bypassed if required, and you can change the order of the EQ and compression.
