PRS Guitars has announced it will significantly expand its amplifier lineup with the updated MT 15, the brand-new Archon Classic amplifier head, and the matching Archon 4×12 speaker cabinet.
MT 15 Gets Overdrive Control Upgrade
The popular MT 15, Mark Tremonti’s 15-watt, two-channel signature amplifier (Alter Bridge, Creed), has received a notable update.
Enhanced Overdrive
Building upon the design of its larger sibling, the MT 100, the revised MT 15 now incorporates an overdrive control on its lead channel. This enhancement allows players to sculpt their high-gain tones further.

More Control
According to PRS, the updated lead channel also features a push/pull overdrive control, enabling users to remove two gain stages for achieving vintage, crunchier “mid gain” sounds.
The clean channel retains its push/pull boost control, which adds a touch of overdrive grit. A half-power switch allows players to reduce the amp’s output to 7 watts for added versatility.
Archon Series Welcomes the “Classic”
Expanding the acclaimed Archon series, PRS introduced the Archon Classic, a 50-watt amplifier head offering fresh new voicing.
This new addition is not a replacement for the original Archon but a distinct voice designed to evoke the retro rock tones prevalent on radio airwaves four and five decades ago.

Refined Gain Structure
The Archon Classic boasts a refined gain structure on its lead channel, providing a wider range of tones rich with gain, particularly in the midrange.
The clean channel is designed to transition smoothly from pristine clarity to the edge of breakup. PRS emphasizes that the Archon Classic is intended as a versatile tool for classic rock enthusiasts while also possessing the flexibility to venture into modern sonic territories.
The amplifier retains Archon’s original bright switch, presence, and depth controls. PRS has confirmed that the original Archon will remain available at retailers worldwide.
Archon 4×12
PRS has also unveiled the Archon 4×12 speaker cabinet to complement the Archon amplifier heads. This new cabinet is twice the size of the original Archon cabinet and features four Celestion V-Type speakers in a closed-back design.
The 4×12 is wrapped in durable black vinyl and features a British-style black knitted-weave grill cloth.

What do you mean by “the revised MT 15 now incorporates an overdrive control on its lead channel. This enhancement allows players to sculpt their high-gain tones further”? The push-pull overdrive feature on the lead channel is only to cut out two of the gainstages to get a lower gain crunch tone, not for extra tone shaping in high gain mode.
