The original Oxi Instruments OXI ONE was the surprise hardware sequencer of 2020, blowing past its Kickstarter goals in a matter of hours and stealing the thunder away from Korg’s SQ-64.
Now the company is teasing an upgrade to the grid-based sequencer. Called (appropriately enough) OXI ONE MKII, it looks like it’s going to have more of just about everything.

While there are plenty of jokes online about the company’s missed opportunity for a funny new name (OXI ONE TWO, anyone?), the teased new features are no joking matter. According to the flurry of recent posts on Oxi’s Instagram channel, the OXI ONE MKII will sport more tracks, more memory, more features, more dedicated backlit function buttons, and a bigger OLED screen.
The sequencer also looks to have a new performance mode, an improved arranger mode, custom scales, enhanced logic conditions, a new OXI App for better integration and user data management, and an improved battery meter.

OXI ONE MKII: Price and Availability
There’s no official release date for OXI ONE MKII announced, with just a teaser that pre-orders will start soon. However, given that Oxi Instruments will be at Superbooth25 next month, there’s a good chance we’ll know more then.
Price is also TBD. However, on the Reddit r/Synthesizers page, one Redditor noted that in a recent workshop the company suggested it would be “under $1000.” Sign up for pre-orders on the Oxi Instruments homepage (link below).
