The Novation Launch Control 3 is a flexible, compact controller that can take care of DAW operations, plugin parameters, and hardware in your studio.

Designed to be the little sister of the Launch Control XL 3, the Launch Control 3 uses the same construction principles and materials to create a compact and lightweight control surface, centred around knobs and buttons that send MIDI CC messages to your software or hardware.

The Launch Control 3 is equipped with two rows of eight endless rotary encoders (a total of 16) and eight assignable backlit buttons in an interface tied together with a tiny OLED display that keeps you updated with essential controller data. Like the larger XL 3, it integrates seamlessly with major DAW systems like Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, FL Studio, and Bitwig Studio.

What’s more, the Launch Control 3 supports the Mackie HUI control protocol for Pro Tools and a range of other software. Naturally, there are default mappings that you can import using the Components software via desktop or the browser, and you can store up to seven of these settings and recall them for studio or live situations.

For DAW control, the buttons can cover channel functions such as mute, solo, and record enable, while the encoder knobs are ideal for aux sends or plugin parameters. There are also three 5-pin MIDI ports with In, Out, and Out2/Thru connectivity, and the interface provides filtering or routing options for standalone functionality.

This makes the Launch Control 3 ideal for expanding a hardware synth like the microKORG 2, providing a more comprehensive knob-per-function interface than the instrument offers by default.
