Spitfire Audio, makers of fine sample libraries, brought out the stars today to help them announce what BT (the aforementioned star) has been tweeting “involves a new form of synthesis, completely unheard sounds & next generation expressive midi”.

My money is on something to do with Multidimensional Polyphony Expression…

eDNA or ElectronicDNA is what Spitfire Audio call a Colossal Hybrid Synth. The first release was called “Earth” which is a collection of electronic sounds derived from the Spitfire Audio extensive sound library. eDNA Phobos must be in a similar vein but perhaps curated by BT. Yes, it looks that way – there is (er, was? Ed.) a posh video about it that was briefly on the Spitfire website but with no sound that’s now been taken down. Wait, oh it’s back up again and tells you bugger all. Something about dance and trance music and a lot about how awesome BT is. Maybe we’ll come back to this later.
