Jackson Pro Plus Phil Demmel KV: New Signature for Machine Head’s Lead Guitarist
More than Demmelition!
Jackson and Machine Head’s Phil Demmel have been collaborating for a while. And after the Demmelition Fury now comes the Pro Plus Phil Demmel KV. This model is about as metal and high-end as it gets for Flying Vs.
Pro Plus Phil Demmel KV: The Pro KV in Polka Dot!
With the Pro Plus Phil Demmel KV (short for King V), Jackson and Machine Head‘s lead guitarist take their collaboration to the next level. This is a V-shaped signature built to roar and excite, both visually and sonically. With its polka dot finish, the white neck binding, and Jackson’s typical pointed 6-in-line headstock, this axe will be the star on any metal stage.

With its mahogany body, three-piece through-body maple neck with graphite reinforcement, and ebony fretboard, this guitar has tones for days. And with its classic 25.5″ scale, 12″-16″ compound radius, and 24 jumbo frets, both riffers and lead players will feel right at home on the Pro Plus Phil Demmel KV.

Combine the finish, pointy headstock, and binding with the pearloid sharkfin inlays, and you get one mean-looking signature guitar.
EMGs and Floyd Rose
In terms if its (all black) hardware, the Pro Plus Phil Demmel KV features sealed die-cast tuners from Jackson and a recessed FRT-O2000 double locking bridge with a tremolo arm from Floyd Rose. This thing will stay in tune, even when you heavily bend your licks.

Speaking of being in tune, it’s a bit surprising not to see locking tuners in a model at this price range, but my guess is that if Phil had requested them, the model would have included them. So, it seems to be less of a cost-related decision and more about personal preference.
For electronics, this signature comes with two EMGs, an EMG 60 at the neck and an EMG 81 at the bridge. Plenty of sonic might for monstrous riffs and ear-piercing leads, I’d say. You get a volume knob for each pickup and a three-way switch, no tone knob shenanigans here.
How much does the Jackson Pro Plus Phil Demmel KV cost?
This signature model is available now at Thomann* for $1,555 / £1,399 / €1,609. A case is included.
