The Canadian manufacturer iConnectivity has carved its own lane by offering high-quality professional audio solutions for musicians and creators. The new PlayAUDIO2U heads up the iConnectivity range of audio interfaces for touring setups.

As its name suggests, the PlayAUDIO2U is a tanky 2U rackmountable unit, ruggedly constructed to withstand the ups and downs of life on the road. Looking at the front panel, you might mistake it for a recording interface at first, but on closer inspection, the output configuration of the PlayAUDIO2U defines it as a tool for the stage.
For playback redundancy protection, the PlayAUDIO2U has two USB-C inputs for 24-bit/96 kHz DAW integration. This allows the system to instantly switch over should one of the laptops fail during a performance. Besides the 24 balanced XLR outputs on the rear panel, there are four high-quality XLR combo preamp inputs for processing vocals and instruments.
The MIDI connectivity is also extensive, with 5-pin outputs on the front and back, as well as two Ethernet MIDI ports for long-range routing of up to 22 ports. This allows you to sequence program changes or send CC messages to devices anywhere in the venue with the reliable accuracy you require in live music environments.
In addition, there are footswitch inputs and four customizable function buttons, so you can set the PlayAUDIO2U up to suit your particular stage configuration, and the accompanying Auracle software lets you adjust any settings quickly and easily. Overall, the PlayAUDIO2U is a complete modern solution for live touring acts.
