Squarp Instruments are teasing a chunky new Eurorack module they are calling “Hermod: Modular Brain”. They are the company behind the pretty darn awesome Pyramid hardware sequencer which they have also referred to as a brain. So, this is very much looking like an 8-channel sequencing powerhouse in a Eurorack module.

We don’t have much to go on other than the image and the Facebook/Instagram video post.  Those four colourful buttons – Step, Effects, Track and Seq are all directly from the Pyramid, so it’s got to be a sequencer. There are 8 channels of CV/Gate going which I’m sure gives the game away. There’s also MIDI in/out and USB as a host and as a device. The little screen appears to be showing activity and looks great.

It’s certainly making an impressive sound. It’s going to be interesting to know the exact details when they make them available. Until then it’s just another cool module that I don’t have the space for – yet.
