HEDDphone D1: A Precise Dynamic Headphone Design
A new take on dynamic headphone design from HEDD.
The HEDDphone D1 is a dynamic open-back headphone design that offers the clarity and detail required for critical listening applications.
In the development of the HEDDphone D1, HEDD collaborated with Composite Sound, a Swedish company that specializes in diaphragm design. As the D1 is the first dynamic driver headphone, HEDD wanted to get this right with its new Thin-Ply Carbon Diaphragm (TPCD) technology.

Within the TPC diaphragm of the D1, resonances are controlled through the rigidity and density of its construction. This means that the damping materials often used in dynamic headphones of this kind are no longer required, and the diaphragm’s motion is more immediate and precise across the frequency range.
To solve some of the problems usually experienced with dynamic headphones, HEDD and Composite Sound have reimagined dynamic transducers to deliver the precise performance usually associated with studio monitors, while staying in the context of an audiophile headphone design.
With this extremely lightweight TPC diaphragm, the D1 uses compact drivers that allow the headphones to be light and comfortable throughout. When combined with the effortless clarity of the listening experience, it allows you to use them for hours without ear fatigue.
Also, with an impedance rating of 32 ohms, the D1 can perform optimally when connected to a wide range of consumer and professional audio devices. Overall, as HEDD has a solid reputation for innovation in audio, the new D1 is an exciting prospect for headphone fanatics.
