Happy New Year 2026! From an international political perspective, 2025 has been another year of ups and downs. The ongoing war in Ukraine and the resulting fears in the financial markets, and the continuing global logistical problems. There are always new tariffs, laws, and policies in the U.S. that we can’t understand (in Europe) and that turn the global market upside down almost daily. Fortunately, festivals, concerts, and club events in all music genres help us clear our heads. And then of course there’s our own thing, making music and the holy ‘G.A.S.’ to start the New Year more musically than ever! The GEARNEWS editorial team wishes you a great start into 2026!

Turn Old Into New – Happy New Year!

It’s always easier to talk about the negative things that happened to us last year. Upsets, negative vibes, wars, diseases, injustices, rejections, problems and whatever else you can think of. Our magazine, on the other hand, stands for positivity, music and our favourite hobby: GEAR! And we want to keep it that way. G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) & Co. will still be with us in 2026. I’m already very happy with my ongoing G.A.S. (my wallet less so)! In the hardware and software sections of our Guitar, Bass, Synth, Studio, Live/DJ, Drums, Tech and Deals section you’ll find A LOT to fire your G.A.S. – I promise!

On these sub pages you’ll find all the latest news from the music industry. Of course, GEARNEWS will continue as usual (why not!) under the motto: Happy New Year, happy new gear! There will also be new and interesting workshops, tips & tricks, buying guides and other new series. Let us surprise you!

Happy New Year GEARNEWS – Here’s a Sneak Peek

The NAMM Show 2026 is just a few days away at the end of January. This time it will be a full five days again and there will be a wide range of events planned. Superbooth 26 will open beginning of May, as always (my personal highlight of the year, because I’m a synth nerd). We are also looking forward to the Guitar Summit end of September in Germany too. So, right at the beginning of the year, spring and autumn 2026 will definitely have a lot of news in store! It will certainly be exciting again for us gear nerds. What might be exciting for you in 2026? What are you looking forward to?

Let us know and drop us a comment below, on Facebook or Instagram. We would also like to thank you, our readers, for your loyalty, your feedback, your participation in competitions and for sharing our news and features on Facebook and Instagram. And of course we would like to thank the manufacturers, developers and distributors for their commitment to keeping the music circus going. Without you, GEARNEWS would not be what it is today. We say THANK YOU and wish you a Happy New Year 2026!

Sorry for that, but unfortunately it is data protection law. We will talk about another link in our next editorial meeting.

Can you expand on this? It doesn’t seem a very convincing explanation, as it’s just a link to another web site, and you don’t wrap all links in this fashion — you even link to your Facebook page directly.

There’s no reason to pass additional user data to YouTube and it is otherwise just a normal web link dependent on very basic web functionality.

These links prevent me from accessing these otherwise useful videos, even if I disable all Javascript blocking — you can’t even extract the link from the source code!

    Happy New Year
May we all have our hope
    Our will to try
    If we don’t
    We might as well
    Lay down and die

    All the best,
    Benny and Bjorn 😎
