FreqPort FreqTube FT1-EMU: No Hardware Needed?

That’s right, the FreqPort FreqTube FT1-EMU plugin doesn’t just control the hardware anymore; it emulates every aspect of its circuitry in your DAW.
Originally, the FreqTube FT1 offered users a one-box solution for running signals from your DAW into tasty tubular analogue circuitry for character and warmth. However, there will always be times when traveling with your laptop and working without your favourite hardware, so FreqPort has decided give the plugin the power to model the FT1 sound without requiring the hardware.

To do this accurately, FreqPort has developed what it calls SPICE circuit modeling, which allows every component of the FreqTube FT1 hardware to be carefully recreated seamlessly. However, when you have the hardware nearby, simply connect it and with one click, your signal is going through the FT1 and back into your DAW with the same settings.
This level of flexibility is ideal for producers and engineers who want the best of both worlds and the ability to move between them instantly. In one click, the plugin transforms from an analogue modelling processor into a hardware control interface, which is pretty neat. What’s more, the idea is that there isn’t a massive sound difference either.

The key is that the hardware is limited to processing two stereo or four mono signals at once, whereas the new plugin has the flexibility to run multiple instances on every one of your DAW channels, like any other plugin. It uses the same quad tube engine with dual E83CC tubes for more aggressive saturation and dual 12AT7 tubes for buttery harmonics.
In addition, there is an analogue-modelled multimode filter stage with primary and parallel processing modes that, when combined with the other features, gives you extensive control for shaping signals with drive, filtering, and harmonics. Overall, the plugin offers value whether you plan on getting the hardware or not.
