Fender has released Strats, Teles, Jazzmasters, and P-Basses in the style of its iconic 1960s models, but artificially aged. That’s what the new Vintera II Road Worn series offers. These new Made-in-Mexico models are designed to feel and look “well-played.”

Vintera II Road Worn: Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster, and Prezi

We’ve seen a similar release with the original Vintera II release in 2023: It is made in Mexico and based on the design of the glorious Strat and Tele era, with historically accurate neck profiles and vintage-voiced pickups. Add to that unique colors and an artificially aged nitro finish, which the name Vintera II Road Worn suggests. It’s as if you’ve spent years touring smoky bars and giving your all.

The collection includes two Stratocasters, two Teles, two Jazzmasters, and two P-basses. All of them feature an alder body and maple neck. Each neck profile is based on the iconic models: “Early 60s C” for Strat, Tele, and P-Bass, and “Late 50s C” for the Jazzmaster. Each Vintera II Road Worn instrument also comes with a deluxe molded hardshell case.

Sonic Blue and Black Guard Blonde

The Fender Vintera II Road Worn 60s Strat is available in two colors: Sonic Blue*, featuring a rosewood fretboard, and Black*, featuring a maple fingerboard. However, these colors in combination with that mint green pickguard look a bit… odd. Bold move, Fender!

Both Strats come with three vintage-style single coils, a standard five-way switch, master volume, and tone controls 1 and 2. The hardware features vintage-style tuners and a synchronized tremolo with curved steel string saddles. Similarly, the Road Worn Tele Burgundy Mist Metallic* with rosewood fretboard and Black Guard Blonde* with maple fingerboard. And here you can see once again in close-up how Fender envisions aging.

And this aged nitro finish… Not so sure about that. Especially on the Burgundy model, it just looks a bit weird. But who knows? Maybe I’m in the minority. What do you think? Otherwise, everything is great: two vintage-style Tele single coils, a 3-saddle vintage-style Tele bridge with slotted steel string saddles—just a decent tele.

Compared to that, the Vintera II Road Worn Three-Color Sunburst Jazzmaster* looks pretty good, although that brown pickguard… Then there’s the eye-catching Fiesta Red*, both models with rosewood fretboards. The Jazzmasters also come with the typical controls: a switch for the rhythm circuit and two thumbwheels for volume and tone for the lead pickup.

And two Preci basses are included! There’s also a model in Fiesta Red*, plus one in Charcoal Frost Metallic*. Visually, these two models from Vintera II Road Worn are the most appealing to me with their four-layer tortoiseshell pickguard, especially the second model. 34″ scale length, 20 vintage tall frets, the typical P-bass split single coil, that’s how it should be!
