These Fender Japan Wasted Youth Telecaster and Mustang Bass models are a limited-run of guitars released today.
Fender Japan Wasted Youth
Fender Japan Wasted Youth Telecaster and Mustang Bass models are exclusive to the Japanese market and a collaboration with the artist Verdy. Wasted Youth, is known for partnerships with brands like Budweiser and Casio. Verdy became the Budweiser Japan Creative Director back in July last year and so this latest release with Fender Japan stems from that connection.
Both guitar and bass models come with a set of exclusive accessories, including a T-shirt, guitar picks, and a hard case with a hand-painted Wasted Youth logo stencil by Verdy

Wasted Youth Telecaster
The Wasted Youth Telecaster comes with an alder body, a U-shape maple neck with 21 frets on a rosewood fretboard. This model is the more in-your-face model and has Budweiser logo-shaped inlays and a special neck plate. Along with a beer can sticker design that wraps around the entire body of the guitar.
Wasted Youth Mustang Bass
Next up, is the slightly more subdued Wasted Youth Mustang Bass model. This one comes in a Blue Sparkle finish and has the same special neck plate found on the Telecaster. The Wasted Youth/Budweiser-themed Competition-style body stripe adorns the body of the bass. This model has an alder body, maple neck, and a ’60s Split single-coil pickup.
Limited Run
These limited-edition Wasted Youth models will be available starting December 23. There are 16 Telecasters and Mustang Basses in Fender Japan’s flagship store in Tokyo and 17 of each are also being made available from the Japanese Fender online.
They are most likely going to be snapped up by collectors, as they are a collaboration with Verdy, who already has a huge cult following with Wasted Youth.
