These Fender Hybrid II Stratocaster Limited Run Sakuraburst are made in Japan and they come with this unique finish. The sakura emulates the Japanese cherry blossoms which the country is famous for and this time this Fender Japan model is available in Europe and the USA.
The Fender Hybrid II Stratocaster Limited Run Sakuraburst features what is described as a well-established alder body. This model comes with a Modern “C” shape maple neck with a satin finish neck that has a 9.5″ radius rosewood fretboard and 22 narrow-tall frets.
This model is fitted with their newly designed Hybrid II Custom Voiced single-coil pickups and has a modern two-point tremolo system with a vintage-style saddle, plus a set of vintage locking tuners and a bone nut. I’m guessing that the tuning stability will be great with this setup, just keep that nut well-lubricated.
This is certainly a unique eye-catching ‘burst’ finish and appears on the front and rear of this Stratocaster. Made in Japan Fender models are normally quite collectable and are becoming more desirable in recent years. Therefore, this could be one to check out if you are a fan of Stratocasters with pink finishes, or if you enjoy the Japanese build quality.
I’m not overly familiar with these Hybrid II Custom Voiced single-coil pickups, so will be interesting to see what guitarists think of them. This model isn’t exactly cheap, but they do include a gig bag in the price at least. It could be one to watch for collectors though.
However, I love that Fender Japan is making more of these models widely available outside of their domestic market. Because in my opinion, they make some of the more interesting guitars in the Fender lineup.
