Erica Synths Nightverb Update Adds Gated Reverb
Need big drums to match your big hair and big shoulder pads? Erica Synths Nightverb has you covered with a new firmware update that brings compression and gating to the tabletop effects unit.

Update Adds Gated Reverb
Erica Synths Nightverb is a beautiful desktop digital reverb effects unit made in collaboration with 112dB. The stereo device has a very musical reverb, according to Erica Synths, with long tails and a gorgeous freeze function. One thing it didn’t have was ’80s-style gated reverbs. That’s all about to change.

With the just-announced firmware update 1.02, Nightverb now has a compressor and noise gate, meaning you can do those wonderfully big drums from the 1980s. “To access the new parameters,” says Erica Synths, “open the EFFECTS menu on the Nightverb and set GATED mode to C+G to enable both compressor and noise gate, CMP for compressor only, or NG for noise gate only. Both the compressor and noise gate offer three adjustable parameters.”
The update is available now and includes 15 new patches by Davide Puxxedu and Eraldo Bernocchi. More information here.
Erica Synths Nightverb is available at Thomann*.

Erica Synths Nightverb and Graphic Resonant EQ
[May 16 2024] Hot on the heels of the announcement of Bullfrog XL, Erica Synths has revealed two new products at Superbooth24. They are the tabletop effects unit Nightverb and Eurorack module Graphic Resonant Equalizer.
Erica Synths Nightverb
Dubbed “a musical reverb with harmonic integrity”, Nightverb is a tabletop reverb effects unit made in collaboration with Dutch plugin developer 112dB. The two companies have worked together before, namely on the Black Stereo Reverb and Delay 2. Now they’re at it again, this time with a reverb with a focus on musicality.

Parameters on Nightverb include predelay (up to 200ms), size, shape, feedback and spin. There are also controls for stereo width (up to 200%), a single dial for early and late reflections, low and high damp controls plus bass and treble knobs.
Erica Synths claims Nightverb has a new, custom algorithm and is capable of “extremely long decay tails without loss of harmonic integrity”. Additionally, notes can be held in chords and pitch-shifted to create ambient textures.
If it sounds as great as it looks, it’ll be amazing for synths.
Erica Synths Graphic Resonant Equalizer
Switching gears, Erica Synths is also debuting Graphic Resonant Equalizer, a 10-band analogue resonant EQ with digital control.

“A brand new architecture gives an unprecedented level of control for shaping sounds with the possibility of saving presets, randomizing band levels, applying clocked modulations and even allowing for the module to act as an unconventional multimode filter”, says the company in press materials.
The 20 HP module offers CV control over each band level; EQ, low-pass, bandpass, high-pass and notch filter modes; and configurable resonance loops on one or several bands. There’s also a spectrum analyzer mode and an optional expander for hands-on control of each band’s boost and cut.
