Endorphin.es Ghost Pedal Firmware Update 4.0
The awesome Ghost Pedal by Endorphin.es and Andrew Huang just got even better! Although the latest firmware update to version 4.0 doesn’t include any completely new features, nearly all of the existing effects have been improved and refined.
If you’re one of the many users who like to pair the Ghost Pedal with a TB-303, you’re going to love that Endorphin.es has tweaked the distortion algorithm to make the pedal play even better with the classic bassline synth or its many clones. According to the manufacturer, it now features a “squashed” response for dense and consistent acid lines with better note-to-note stability.
The high-gain behavior has also been refined to reduce hiss and unwanted artifacts. In addition, Endorphin.es has improved the dynamics and transient control and added an asymmetrical ‘Fairfax’-style drive character for a smoother, more amp-like breakup and rich midrange harmonics.
The reverb has also been improved. The Hall algorithm now sounds even denser and smoother for a spacious ‘Big Hall’ feel. Moreover, the Shimmer effect has been refined, and adjusting the pre-delay now causes fewer artifacts while turning the knob. The reverse and spring reverb algorithms also each got their share of improvements.
Other improvements in the 4.0 update include more stable tap delays, “creamier” filter resonance, an improved comb filter, and much more. And they eliminated the annoying bug that could crash the pedal when MIDI program change messages came in too quickly.
The 4.0 update for the Endorphin.es Ghost Pedal is now available to download from the manufacturer’s website.

Endorphin.es Ghost Brings Randomisation to the Party with Version 3 Update!
[11 July 2024 / Robin Vincent] Endophin.es announces a new V3 Firmware Update for Endorphin.es Ghost, its collaboration with Andrew Huang.
Announced today is a new V3 firmware update for the Ghost pedal, developed in conjunction with Andrew Huang. It focuses on an all-new randomisation feature:
- SHIFT + REVERB + ROUTING randomises the patch incl. random LFO freq. but does not randomise the volume/mix/cabinet
- MODULATION + REVERB + ROUTING randomises the modulations.
- Long SHIFT + MODULATION press clears all modulations
On top of this, the bandpass filter has had its frequency limited to a range of 100Hz-7kHz instead of full range. They’ve also made the filter behaviour more useful so it operates a bit like a DJ filter. The lowpass filter works until silence and the highpass to 2.2kHz. Works well with a lot of resonance, we’re told!
Along with the V3 update, there’s also a new bank called the AFX bank which includes 9 new versatile presets with “movement you’ve never heard!”. Sounds intriguing!
The V3 firmware update is available to download right now and is completely free of charge.
Endorphin.es Ghost Pedal
[13 April 2023] Ghost is a multi-dimensional effects chain processor designed with super producer and YouTuber Andrew Huang. In pedal form, it relaxes the cramped feel of the Eurorack module and lays it all out much more logically. I confess that the Ghost module bamboozled me with its packed-in functionality, so this looks much better.
Ultimately it will sit on the end of your chain of sounds giving it energy and making it sound fabulous. It can also be used as a DI box.
The Ghost Pedal has line and a JFET guitar input with cabinet simulation. Then you’ve got a Reverb, Filter, Distortion and internal LFO for modulation. The reverb features a freeze option, delay looper, comb with resonator, and spring mode with virtual spring excitement.
It’s MIDI controllable, and you can assign the expression pedal to all sorts of parameters. And you have the ability to set all sorts of routing options.
Ghost is really good in a pedal.
Golden Master Pedal
Based on the Golden Master Eurorack module, the Golden Master Pedal is a multiband compressor with EQ, mid-side processing, and stereo enhancement. It has stereo in and out and an input for an expression pedal. Each band gets a compression knob along with a global threshold.

Both pedals are available now!
