The NUO4.0F provides a professional feature set for a wide range of DJ styles, with two PFL channels, an effects send, and custom crossfader shaping per channel. The effects sends have pre and post fader modes, which is appealing for live electronic musicians, and there is a set of stereo master inserts, so you can add processing or frequency management to the main mix.
Both the booth and master outputs have balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) connectors, and there is a handy set of recording outputs on the main control panel for recording your DJ sets. Each of the four channels can be individually assigned to either filter, and there are two filter modes (low-pass and high-pass), so you can apply them in different ways.
Having analogue filters with resonance controls like these is extremely useful for hybrid DJs who want to add additional samplers, synths, or drum machines into their sets without overloading the sound system. They will also be helpful if you like to use long transitions, especially if you’re playing raw styles of music like techno on vinyl.
In addition, the ability to customize and shape the cross-fader will appeal to turntablists, and scratch DJs because you can optimize your setup to suit the way you play.
