Duesenberg Chris Chaney Bass: Built To Rock!
Chris Chaney gets new Alliance Series signature bass model
The Duesenberg Chris Chaney Bass, part of the Alliance series, is a real workhorse and rocks what it takes! Inspired by the tones Chris Chaney creates during his time at Jane’s Addiction and his current tour with AC/DC, this bass offers everything a band needs for powerful riffs.
Chris Chaney
The Duesenberg Chris Chaney Alliance series signature bass is his take on a P-style electric bass. It has a fairly traditional setup consisting of an alder body with a bolt-on maple neck and a rosewood fretboard.
Chaney knows what he likes, and whenever I saw him live with Jane’s Addiction, he had a great, solid bass tone. He needs an instrument he can rely on, and this signature model doesn’t need to stray too far from the classic formula.
Plek’d
A highlight is the fingerboard processed by the Plek system, which ensures that the frets are perfectly trained in all ways. This helps to create an excellent playing feel, with optimal intonation and playability over the entire fretboard.
The Devil is in the Details
The bass is also visually striking due to the specially laser-engraved knobs, anodized aluminum pickguard, and neck plate, as well as the unique fingerboard ‘CC’ inlays for the 12th fret, which give the bass an individual touch.
Grand Duplex
This signature model is equipped with Custom Duesenberg Grand Duplex Bass Pickups. These pickups deliver a clear, transparent sound while emphasising the low frequencies essential for a bass, without getting soft and spongy.
Duesenberg makes some stunning-looking instruments, and this new signature bass certainly falls under this category. It looks great and backs it up with a professional build, designed for relentless performance and life on tour.
Price and Availability
Although the Chris Chaney Bass is available in three attractive versions, the Classic Black version is currently available for order. It retails for $2499/£2190/€2549 and can be ordered here at Thomann.

Hi all!
All is schoen and good, haha, but I can’t help but wonder why I should consider a bass with arguably as beautiful knobs as these, yet nothing else much to lure me away from a solid nice Fender American Standard or Player ( don’t recall the current names)…
