Catalinbread Wake Chorus: Dreamy Chorus with Sub Octave
Catalinbread Wake Chorus - An 8 Voice Chorus with Sub-Octave
The Catalinbread Wake Chorus offers some dreamy chorus tones and a unique octave down effect, which combines to make some lush chorus effects. If you enjoy bands like Cocteau Twins, The Cure, and even My Bloody Valentine, then you’ll love this!
Catalinbread Wake Chorus
The Catalinbread Wake is a chorus pedal with a powerful, eight-voice chorus effect with an added
sub-octave that forms the basis of this classic modulation effect.
Dreamy
From dream pop to shoegaze to post-rock, guitar sounds have shimmered and shimmered since the 1980s. Drowned in chorus and flanger, the Cocteau Twins, The Cure, and even My Bloody Valentine created a melancholic atmosphere that still resonates today.
This new chorus pedal from Catalinbread certainly has been inspired by some of these effects, so it could well be worth checking out if you love these bands.
Octave and more
It includes a sub-octave, which you can add using its dedicated control. This is generated separately from the chorus in the signal path, so it doesn’t receive the vibrato effect. Keeping the sub-octave from oscillating makes this chorus sound deep, lush, and very full.
The pedal is digital, so it can handle polyphonic playing, and it tracks flawlessly, according to Andy in the video demo above.
Chorus Controls
The Wake offers the typical controls for a chorus. Rate determines the speed, Depth sets the intensity, and Mix balances the overall effect level. The pedal has an internal DIP switch on the circuit board that can be switched between buffered and true bypass.
Price and Availability
The Catalinbread Wake Chorus is now available from Thomann for €239 and so you can order it straight away.
