The latest Catalinbread release has resurrected the spirit of vintage oil-can delays with the Adineko Ghost, an evolution of their beloved original Adineko.

Adineko Ghost

Catalinbread’s Adineko Ghost retains the rich, warbly textures that made its predecessor a cult classic.

It has the Reverb Timing, Blend, and Balance controls, with the addition of the Ghost knob.

This updated version introduces a chilling new dimension: Ghost control, adding an eerie, spectral layer to its already unique sound.

Ghost Control

This Ghost control knob (marked in green text) adds a densely-filtered octave-up signal directly into the delay line. Low settings offer a subtle, haunting modulation. Turn it up, and the pedal goes crazy.

Expect chaotic, glitchy digital bleeps and bloops. It truly stretches the delay into another dimension.

Reverb

The Reverb control is actually a feedback knob. It ranges from tight, clean echoes to wild, self-oscillating loops when maxed out. It’s perfect for creating cinematic swells. Or, at extremes, you can send your signal into spiraling madness.

The Timing knob controls the delay time. You can get quick slapback echoes or long, flowing washes of sound, just like with the original Adineko. Finally, the Blend knob lets you mix your dry guitar sound with the effect.

Turn it down to keep your original sound more prominent, or turn it up to let the ghostly delay take over completely.

Balance

The Adineko Ghost has a special design with two delay lines working at the same time, and now they’re both “haunted” by the Ghost effect. The Balance knob lets you blend these two delay lines.

Turn it all the way counter-clockwise for only the fast delay line, or all the way clockwise for only the slower one. If you set it in the middle, you get a rich mix of both, which delivers the most complex and immersive results because each delay line reacts differently to the Ghost effect.
