The new Polar Go interface is a dual-function device that works primarily as an audio interface. However, it can be used as a recording device as well, with its integrated ProCapture™ stereo mic system. The neat little Polar Go weighs only 134g, so you’ll have no trouble adding it to your mobile content-capturing or podcasting rig.
The I/O is incredibly simple, with the main gain controls on the top panel, and just a single XLR/combo input with phantom power and a stereo minijack output for headphones. However, the beauty of this device is its versatile operation. While the onboard battery provides up to 4 hours of running time, there is an additional USB port that you can use for portable power banks.
This means you can use the Polar Go in a wide range of different mobile setups, and it is also compatible with magnetic smartphone mounts. In addition, the Polar Go mobile app for iOS and Android has useful features like the Audio Magic Wand for getting clean audio in a single click, as well as video recording to test your live streaming settings.
The Polar Go is also equipped with DSP effects such as reverb, compression, and EQ with selectable presets you can access from the app. Overall, the Polar Go is a versatile and affordable tool for recording or simply practicing for your next guitar set.
