Synth Deals of the Week
Behringer MS-5
The Behringer MS-5 always seems to fly under the radar and doesn’t seem to get as much coverage as other Behringer synths, but if you ask me, it is one of their more intriguing instruments that does very much seem to nail the sound of the SH-5 upon which it is based.

So much so that it really does go into that slightly edgier territory that the original is famed for. As such, it makes the MS-5 a compelling and desirable addition to anyone’s analog collection. The sit-up-and-beg front panel is a nice thing, giving users options on how to approach its user interface.
Well, it now has a little money off too, with the price now dropping to under €400 for a limited time. I mean, it was pretty good value already, but if you were hovering over the buy button, maybe now is the right time. You can pick this quirky and unique synth for just €395/£338/$388 until July 22nd!
Behringer UB-Xa D
Of all of Behringer’s synth “recreations”, the UB-Xa and UB-Xa D were probably the most anticipated and the ones that the manufacturer themselves were itching to do. The desire to deliver a big analog poly synth, with polyphonic aftertouch and approaching somewhere close to ‘that’ sound, was huge.

And it is fair to say that they didn’t disappoint. Both versions of this synth have gone down a storm and, bizarrely, continue to go down in price! Even if you are of the opinion that it doesn’t quite match the sound of the synth upon which it drew its inspiration, you can’t argue with the bang for buck here.
Not content with dropping the RRP on numerous occasions, the desktop version, the UB-Xa D, is now on sale for 10% less at a mere €599! Is there an analog poly synth that comes even close to matching that price with this specification? I can’t think of anything, can you?
So, now is the time if you want to jump on board and get your hands on what must be the best bang for buck synth on the market today. Our affiliate partner is selling this for just €599/£509/$585 until July 22nd!
Behringer RD-8 Mk.II
One could argue that the 808 sound has been done, ad infinitum and possibly ad nauseum. All that said, it is still a hugely desirable, if somewhat familiar sound, but with prices of the originals in the tens of thousands of whatever currency you have, they’re fast becoming mythical beasts.

So when Uncle Uli announced his recreation, wallets everywhere breathed a sigh of relief. And why not, because the RD-8 gives you the workflow and the sounds for a fraction of the cost. It also adds FX, MIDI, USB and more connectivity to allow you to bring those drum sounds into a 21st-century environment.
Behringer has really nailed their drum machine ‘clones’ and the RD-8 itself got a Mk.II update that made it even closer to the sound of the original. And let’s be honest, if you’re a gigging musician with the need to gig live with an 808 sound, it’s far less stressful taking a sub-€300 replica on the road than your prized OG.
Well, that sub-€300 price just got even lower for a limited time and can be had for just €222/£188/$215 at our affiliate partner until July 22nd! Grab one before the bass drops!
Roland GAIA 2
Roland’s GAIA 2 was definitely a return to form for the company that almost got lost chasing the analog ghosts they claimed not to be chasing. Despite the GAIA 2 being able to load models of other synths via the Roland Cloud service, it had its own synthesis engine that was more than capable.
Combining wavetables and virtual analog, the GAIA 2 also benefits from plenty of modulation options as well as over 50 FX to feed everything through. It is one of those synths that made us all sit up and go, “Ah, there’s the Roland we know and love!”

With a great user interface whose workflow more than resembles classic synths of yore, the GAIA 2 already punches about its weight, delivering incredible value for money. With performance controls such as the Motional Pad and 64-step sequencer, it is great for live use and won’t take up much space in your studio.
Our editor reviewed it back in 2023 and had this to say about it…
GAIA 2 is a great synthesizer for beginners and advanced users who do not yet have hardware sound generators in their studio. The synthesizer is an “all-round carefree” package for everyone who likes virtual-analog and wavetable synthesis.
You can grab the GAIA 2 for just €585/£511/$575, which represents a 12% discount, until July 22nd!
