[18 June 2025] The new version of Avid Pro Tools, featuring update 2025.6, offers a variety of appealing new features for music producers and post-production teams. Of particular note is the direct integration of Splice, a sample provider whose library can now be used within Pro Tools, eliminating the need for external browsers or apps. This speeds up the creative process considerably. An AI-powered feature suggests matching sounds based on the current session’s tempo, key, and rhythm. This will be especially interesting for electronic music producers and sound designers who work with loops and samples. But that’s not all!

Avid Pro Tools 2025.6 is Ideal for Sound Designers and Post-Production Professionals
In addition to this integration, new post-production features are being introduced. Support for Cue Pro and Matchbox 2.0 allows for a more seamless connection with image editing tools in Media Composer and other editing programs. ADR cues can now be created visually and in real time, and reconformation steps can run automatically and more reliably. Another notable feature is the new speech-to-text capability that automatically transcribes spoken content from audio clips. The recognized text appears in a new track view alongside the waveform. It remains synchronized with the audio track and can be edited directly. This greatly simplifies working with interviews, podcasts, and dialogue recordings, which previously required time-consuming listening and manual transcription. The ability to search for text terms throughout an entire session makes this feature indispensable for everyday studio work.
MIDI Labels and Live Playback
Additionally, Avid has refined the MIDI functionality further. The “Event Operations” section has been redesigned and integrated directly into the MIDI editor as “MIDI Operations.” Another new feature is MIDI Live Mode, which provides realistic playback of imported MIDI data. The “Default Thru” behavior, appreciated by many users of older versions, has also been restored. The new option to set keyboard labels per MIDI track should significantly improve the overview, especially for users who work with unconventional sound generators or drum racks.
