The new CLA-Sub is a 300-watt studio sub with a 10-inch dual-magnet driver that can be configured in front or downward-firing modes. Housed in a ported enclosure, the paper cone driver system offers extended low-end response with minimized distortion. To optimize the input signal, there is a variable high-cut filter (50-180 Hz), so you can adjust the frequency range being sent to the sub.
In addition, if you need to send signals to studio monitors, there is a low-cut filter that can be set at 80 or 100 Hz to match the size of your monitors. For convenient operation while mixing, you can also use a footswitch, and there is a power-saving mode for efficiency. If you’re wondering about the difference between the front and downward-firing modes, you can switch between them by redeploying the rubber feet accordingly.
Front-firing gives you the cleanest possible results, while downward-firing couples with the floor so you get a bit of extra oomph. To cater to different setups, the CLA-Sub has a pair of XLR combo inputs and a pair of XLR thru ports. Meanwhile, there is also a polarity inversion switch in case you need it.
