The Bus TRANSIENT divides the processing of transient information within a signal into two distinct parts: the transient and the body. In each case, you can adjust the gain to balance the level of the initial attack point and the sustained part of the sound. Meanwhile, you can also set the time of attack and sustain to add thickness or reduce muddiness.
The main control that determines the amount of processing taking place is the input sensitivity, allowing you to do minor transient shaving or complete restructuring of the waveform. What’s more, there are separate tone controls for the transient and body sections, so you can accentuate different aspects for improved detail and character.
On the output stage, you can engage the clipper section and choose between soft or hard clipping modes, depending on the type of signal you’re dealing with. In addition, there is a mix control for parallel processing, allowing you to balance the wet and dry signals to preserve your original sound if required.
