The Capitol Studios plugin puts the sounds from your DAW into a legendary recording space and lets you choose mics, shift the mic positioning, and use different consoles, echo chambers, and outboard gear to authentically recreate the sound and experience.

Alongside Abbey Road in London, Capitol Studios Hollywood is easily one of the most famous recording facilities of all time, having hosted sessions for albums like Ella and Louis (1956) by Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong, Pet Sounds (1966) by The Beach Boys, and Breezin’ (1976) by George Benson, as well as a collection of major motion picture scores and video game soundtracks.
When approaching the plugin, the first choice you’re confronted with is whether to choose Studio A with a 1,500-square-foot orchestral hall and a cleaner, modern Neve 88RS console or Studio B with its 1,000-square-foot room and 150-square-foot iso booth, and the vintage Neve 8068 console with its signature warmth and character.
Then, to shape the way the sound is “captured,” you have a selection of five classic mics, including the Neumann U48, the AKG C12, the Neumann U67, the Neumann M50, and the SONY C-800G. Each studio also gives you the choice of Live or Tight modes that simulate the acoustic wooden panels that change the decay of the room.
One of the most important features is the Re-Mic mode. This gives you the choice of using the Capitol Studios plugin to add to the existing ambience of your recorded files, or replace it completely, giving you a blank canvas to work from. Overall, with the famous Decca Tree mic configuration, four new echo chamber models, and a range of classic outboard gear, Capitol Studios provides a complete “source to tape” workflow with a great deal of sonic range.
