The NANO Performance ISO-F1 is a flexible analogue filter and isolator for electronic music performers and DJs, giving you system-wide control.
The ISO-F1 comes a little out of left field, as the first non-Eurorack product from the boutique manufacturer based in Barcelona. If you’re a Eurorack fan, you’ve probably heard of their popular ONA oscillator module, inspired by the famous CEM3340 “Curtis” chip.

The ISO-F1 paves the way for NANO’s new Performance line of live and DJ tools, so we’re excited to see what they cook up next. With this small device, you have immediate hands-on access to a 3-band isolator and a filter, each providing different ways to shape the frequency range during build-ups/drops or when you’re mixing between tracks.
Besides its extremely portable size, the ISO-F1 also provides visibility in poor lighting conditions with the clever use of LEDs in the design, which surround each knob, letting you know the control value before you make your next adjustment. The 3-band isolator has two crossovers with selectable frequencies between the low and midrange bands (100 Hz, 200 Hz, and 400 Hz), as well as the midrange and highs (1.5 kHz, 2 kHz, and 3 kHz).
This allows you to customize the setup for the style of music you play or perform, and you can also adjust the gain range (+6 dB, +9 dB, or +12 dB). The housing of the unit and the knobs are constructed using CNC-milled aluminum, and its clever design includes a built-in stand and magnets for mounting it on the front or side of the DJ mixer or another piece of gear.
For added flexibility, both the isolator and filter sections have independent bypass switches, and there are a few secondary functions, like instant band kills, that you can access with the SHIFT button. Overall, the ISO-F1 is an impressive and very utilitarian tool that gives you another degree of control in live stage/DJ environments. Being a precision-engineered device created with custom parts, it does push up the price tag, but the ISO-F1 is certainly built to last.
