With the Warm Audio WA-RA Reamper, you can easily route your dry DAW signals through guitar and bass amps as well as effects pedals and still keep the appropriate gain levels. The Reamper also enables noise-free recording of tube amps, thanks to its built-in power soak. Warm Audio is also introducing two new two-channel DIs. Let’s take a look.
What does the Warm Audio WA-RA Reamper do?
The Warm Audio WA-RA Reamper has a lot to offer. It routes your dry audio signal directly from your DAW through your favorite amps or effects pedals and back into the DAW and keeps the appropriate signal levels. As re-amping is one of the most popular guitar recording techniques these days for adding different amp and pedal flavors, this box could be your go-to solution.
With this box, you can also send your guitar signal through hardware like dedicated preamps, compressors, or EQs, or anything else outside the digital world.
But the WA-RA isn’t limited to just guitars or basses, you can also use it to integrate any synth or modular sources.
Power Soak on Board
In addition, the WA-RA’s built-in Power Soak enables silent recording of tube amplifiers with a power output of up to 50 W (8 Ω impedance) without a speaker. This lets you play your prized amps directly into your DAW at home without annoying the neighbors.
Additionally, the WA-RA Reamper features high-quality JFET/OP-amps that can add warmth and drive to your signal. In terms of I/O, it offers both an Instrument In and Thru for front inputs, as well as an Instrument Out for high-impedance outputs. On the back, the WA-RA Reamper offers both a line jack and an XLR input for line signal, and matching line and XLR outputs, in addition to an Amp in and an Amp Thru.
For controls the Reamper offers a host of switches to determine the input signal type, the preamp character, and two switches to flip either the phase of the input or output. In addition, it comes with a ground lift, a dial to set the impedance, and knobs to set the input gain and output level.
WA-DI-A2 and WA-DI-P2
In addition to the WA-RA Reamper, the Warm Audio is also releasing two high-quality two-channel DI boxes. The WA-DI-A2 is an active unit, while the WA-DI-P2 is designed as a passive DI. Both are extremely rugged and ideally suited for live use. Their built-in CineMag USA transformers ensure only the highest fidelity.
