With BLEASS Peaks, you can control the root frequency of up to eight filters using MIDI, so they can follow chord progressions or other parts in your DAW.
The French music production software developer BLEASS is known for instruments and effects that put creativity and expression first. Peaks joins a diverse lineup of audio tools that are particularly exciting for electronic music production, with fluid workflows and unique sound shaping capabilities.

Peaks combines traditional filter processing with performance-orientated control, providing a platform that can be used for animated sound design, shaping sounds in a huge range of musical ways. With two primary operating methods, you can select either Internal or MIDI mode, which gives you access to a different set of controls.
In Internal mode, you have the controls to shape a single bell-filter curve with up to 32 additional resonant notch or peak points. The peak controls are extremely detailed, giving you the ability to adjust the frequency distribution and range, polarity pattern, and amount of sweeping present. What’s more, there is a range of traditional subtractive synth-like features, including three LFOs and four envelope types, as well as macro and performance control features.
In MIDI mode, Peaks truly shows its depth with the ability to be controlled by real-time or programmed MIDI notes. This allows you to structure the tone shaping of one instrument to align closely with another from a timing and frequency perspective. In the MIDI tab, you’ll find extensive controls that determine how the filter peaks respond to the MIDI input, with pitch range and custom envelope controls.
In addition, Peaks has an effects section to add further expression or polish to your sounds, with compression, limiting, distortion, bitcrushing, and delay. Overall, Peaks is an intriguing platform for hands-on sound design with a unique control system. While the GUI might not be the flashiest, the price is hard to beat.
