tucktuckg00se INTERSECT: Free Sample Slicer Instrument

INTERSECT by tucktuckg00se makes short work of chopping up your samples and drum loops! This open-source plugin for Windows, macOS, and Linux is a free sample slicer with MIDI-triggered slice playback, so you can trigger slices using the keys or pads of your MIDI controller, or MIDI notes in your sequencer. Sweet!

Like any good sample slicing tool, INTERSECT offers several options for chopping samples. After loading a sample (.wav, .ogg, .aiff, .flac, .mp3), you can draw slices manually or use the auto mode for slicing samples based on transients or dividing them into regions of equal length. If you have a MIDI controller that sends NRPN data, you can even edit slices via MIDI.

For playback, INTERSECT offers multiple time/pitch algorithms, so you can freely adjust the tuning and/or tempo of slices. There’s also a resonant filter with pre-filter drive, as well as an amp envelope. Slices can also be assigned to mute groups.

INTERSECT looks like an awesome free sample slicing tool that should be in any producer’s toolkit!

INTERSECT is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux in VST3, AU, and standalone formats.

Tiagolr Sirial: Free EchoBoy-inspired Multi-Tap Delay Plugin

After the awesome QDelay, developer Tiagolr is back with yet another open-source delay plugin. Sirial is a rhythmic delay inspired by the Tap mode of Soundtoys EchoBoy. However, it uses serial delay lines instead of taps. According to the developer, this hybrid approach offers the versatility of multi-tap delays with the natural decay behavior and coloring of standard delays.

Like many multi-tap delays, Sirial offers a visual representation of the delay taps and thus the resulting rhythm. In addition to Mix, Feedback, and Stereo controls, the plugin includes a couple of filter for damping, a saturator, and a diffusion effect. There’s even a built-in ducker, so the delay can react to the input signal.

Sirial is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux in VST3, AU, and LV2 formats.
