Love Hultén X Andrew Huang Custom Sound Processor
How busy is custom instrument re-designer and all-around industrial design artist Love Hultén? Just last week, I wrote about his double Deckard’s Dream machine, and now he’s back with a gorgeous new piece, this time for YouTuber Andrew Huang.

The as-yet-unnamed control panel is not an instrument but an effects processor, with five pedals inside, along with a ferrofluid visualizer and a kill switch.
Love Hultén X Andrew Huang: What’s in a Name?
The new box, which Andrew has been calling The Glitch Box and The Refractor, among other things, doesn’t have an official name yet. On Andrew’s Instagram, Scanner artist Robin Rimbaud suggested the Éliane in honor of synthesizer pioneer Éliane Radigue, who recently passed. Sounds good to me. If you have an idea, head to Andrew’s Instagram or YouTube video and leave a comment.
Love Hultén X Andrew Huang: Five Alive
As Andrew explains in the video, Hultén generally takes existing instruments and effects and recombines them into new configurations, changing buttons and other controls and adding his own touches. This Love Hultén X Andrew Huang multieffects wonder is no exception.

Here are the effects inside in the order that they appear in the chain:
- Empress Effects Echosystem digital delay
- Hologram Electronics Microcosm granular looper and glitch pedal
- Red Panda Tensor delay/looper/pitch shifter
- Red Panda Raster 2 delay
- Empress Electronics Reverb
As these are pedals made for feet, Hultén has removed the heavy footswitches and replaced them with retro adding machine-style buttons. Very cool. He’s also put in an arcade button that Andrew can use as an audio kill switch. It’s been placed before the reverb so he can create impact sounds or, by turning off the reverb, manual stutter effects.
Lastly, there’s a ferrofluid visualizer. What is ferrofluid? I asked Google, and the AI said, “Ferrofluid is a colloidal liquid composed of nanoscale ferromagnetic particles (like magnetite) suspended in a carrier fluid and coated with a surfactant to prevent clumping.” When you expose it to a magnetic field, it moves, which I guess in this case is triggered by the audio signal. Pretty cool.
Love Hultén X Andrew Huang: Pricing and Availability
Of course, the Love Hultén X Andrew Huang Glitch Box Refractor whatever you want to call it custom sound processor is not available to buy. But, as Andrew mentions, you could buy all five pedals and run them in the order that he has chosen. You wouldn’t get the kill switch, though, or the visualizer.
Love Hultén’s website is listed below if you have the means to request your own custom unit.
