Viscount has announced the Legend 70s MKII. Alongside the new generation of the modular stage piano, two new modules are being introduced: the FM Synth Module and a 2nd-generation acoustic piano module.
All about the Viscount Legend 70s MKII
Viscount Legend 70s MKII
The Viscount Legend 70s is a modular stage piano and keyboard that you can customize to your needs by installing the sound modules of your choice. At NAMM 2026, Viscount will introduce the second generation.

We don’t know much about the Legend 70s MKII yet, but at first glance, it looks much more refined and sophisticated than the first version. Needless to say, it’s also got more of everything. According to Viscount’s website, it features “wooden premium construction” and new aluminum knobs. The keybeds are also new: the entry-level Compact model now features the Fatar TP/110, while the higher-end Artist-W model comes with an “updated wooden piano keyboard”.
What’s more, the Legend 70s MKII offers dual DSP cores, which provide enough processing power for the new modules (see below) and future developments. There’s also a new EPROM chip for expanded program memory.
Viscount FM Synth Module
Alongside the Legend 70s MKII, Viscount is introducing the FM Synth Module. This means you can now add authentic FM sounds to the stage keyboard. The module offers two independent FM synth layers, each with 16 voices of polyphony and six operators. It can load sounds from the vast Yamaha DX/TX series libraries, and there’s a free software editor for making your own sounds.

Furthermore, the module offers three assignable knobs for controlling a wide range of parameters in real time (Stereo width, Filter Cutoff, Filter Reso, Port Time, PB Range, More, Key Vel, Attack, Release). While the FM Synth Module was developed for the new version of the stage piano, it’s backward compatible with the first generation.

Viscount A. Piano 2G Module
The second new module is an updated acoustic piano module. The A. Piano 2G module offers twice as much sample ROM as the previous version (2 GB) and comes with two completely redesigned acoustic piano sample sets. According to Viscount, all piano models were updated and now offer expanded tonal possibilities thanks to the dual DSPs of the new Legend 70s MKII. That said, it’s still backward compatible with the MKI.

Prices and Availability
At this time, we don’t know yet when the Viscount Legend 70s MKII and the new modules will be available. The prices also haven’t been announced.
