The Wavesfactory Re-Esser is an intuitive processor that separates the atonal sibilant parts from the tonal component of a vocal signal.
Wavesfactory is an innovative software and sample library developer headed up by Jesús Ginard and based in Mallorca, Spain. Although the company has only been around since 2010, its plugins, like Trackspacer, have become go-to processing tools used by today’s top music producers and engineers.

Re-Esser transforms de-essing from a chore into a fun, creative process with its straightforward GUI and a wide range of effects to help your vocals or dialogue sit perfectly within the context of your mix. Under the hood is an advanced sibilance detection engine that delivers natural-sounding results without artifacts, quickly and easily.
As we mentioned briefly, Re-Esser’s processing engine divides the signal into the tonal and sibilant parts and lets you process these elements independently in a variety of ways. This allows you to take care of the precise corrective processing, taming harsh sibilants while enhancing the clarity and detail of the vocal signal simultaneously.
Although reducing sibilance is a one-knob process with Re-Esser, there is a world of other controls and processing modules that can be added to either of the two layers. This includes a chorus with four LFOs, a VCA-style compressor, a convolution IR loader with filters and pre-delay controls, a stereo delay, a 2-band Spectre saturation enhancer, a parametric EQ, and a brickwall limiter.
What’s more, there is a bit-reduction processor, a saturation tool with five modes, a room/plate reverb, a pitch shifter, and a stereo/mid-side control module, as well as a range of modulation effects such as phaser, flanger, tremolo, and vibrato.
Overall, the Re-Esser plugin is a comprehensive vocal processor with huge potential for use in music production or speech and dialogue editing for content, films, and video games.
