Eurorack Deals of the Week
Eurorack Deals: Behringer RS-9 Is 16% Off
Eurorack deals, amazing. Eurorack has a reputation for being expensive, and it generally is. No fault to the manufacturers, though. They’re often small outfits making limited runs, which tends to keep prices on the high side. Economies of scale and all that. Behringer is an exception, though, but when an already affordable item gets even more affordable, well, that’s the bee’s knees.

Take this RS-9, for example. The sequencer section from Behringer’s excellent RD-9 drum machine, the RS-9 puts all of that TR-909-style step and real-time sequencing into a 52 HP Eurorack module.
Check out these specs: it’s got 10 tracks with 1 to 64 steps per, with additional functions such as random pattern generation, adjustable probability for individual steps, swing, ratchets, flam, note repeat, step repeat, polyrhythmic patterns, and more. It’s also got accents, as you’d expect. In terms of memory, the RS-9 allows you to save 256 patterns and 16 songs.
Looking at connectivity, this sequencer sports trigger and accent outs for each track, sync in and out, five-pin DIN MIDI in and out, plus USB MIDI as well as CV and reset jacks.
If you’ve been looking for a TR-style sequencer for your rig, this is a great opportunity. I mean, it’s 16% off.
The Behringer RS-9 is now on sale at Thomann* for $118 / £99 / €119.

Eurorack Deals: Tiptop Audio Model 292t on Sale
When Tiptop Audio announced it would be working with Buchla to bring the 200 series to Eurorack, the modular world reacted with collective joy. Buchla’s creations are unique and highly sought after. They’re also extremely expensive. Thanks to Tiptop, they’re now affordable – and even more so right now, with Model 292t being on sale for 12% off.

Model 292t is, of course, the famous Quad Lopass Gate. Based on the original 292C Buchla module, the new 292t offers four independently controlled channels, each with an input and output plus mode switch for choosing between gate (VCA), lopass (lowpass filter) and combo. There’s also a sum output for combining all four channels.
Note that this is the version without the vactrol octocoupler, which is banned in Europe and the UK due to the cadmium content.
“Vactrols will not stay with us for much longer: they are a very old technology that is getting banned in more and more countries due to the content of cadmium in them,” Tiptop said in a press release in 2023. “So Don’s invention from 1970 needs to be reinvented for this century, and we are already deep into some serious experiments on alternative circuits that will help keep that wonderful sound of the low pass gate alive in the future.”
The version of the Model 292t that you can now get in Europe has this newly designed circuit that complies with RoHS (or Restriction of Hazardous Substances) regulations. Instead of using an LED and photoresistor, it features a semiconductor-based architecture that emulates the original. The resulting sound is, of course, different, but it will still hit that lopass gate sweet spot that you want and love. As the YouTuber Cinematic Laboratory said, “There’s no need to get yourself an ‘original’ 292t with an illegal import. The EU/UK version is fine!”
The Tiptop Audio Model 292t is now on sale at Thomann* for $339 / £299 / €349.
