The Zoom LiveTrak L12next is the latest addition to Zoom’s LiveTrak series of digital mixers with SD recording and DAW control capabilities.
The LiveTrak series caters to a wide range of users, from musicians to content creators, offering high-quality recording, monitoring, onboard effects, and a range of connectivity options to suit almost any workflow.
Zoom LiveTrak L12next
The Livetrak L12next is a 12-channel digital mixer with 32-bit Float 96 kHz recording on 14 tracks to an SD card, as well as functioning as a 14×4 USB audio interface. Compared to the other models in the LiveTrak series, the L12next has eight upgraded mic preamps with 70dB of gain and Hi-Z inputs for guitar signals.
On each channel, you have access to comprehensive signal processing, including compression, EQ, and six sends with 16 built-in digital effects, with a dedicated return channel. What’s more, there is a master bus compressor to give your mix that essential cohesion and glue.
With the five individually controlled headphone outputs, you can create custom mixes for headphones, in-ear monitors, or powered monitor speakers. With the 10 scene memory slots, you can save settings of specific workflows and recall them later, making switching from one task to another a breeze.
When recording, you have access to all the basic transport operations, and there are also useful functions such as Overdub Mode and Auto Punch In/Out for intuitive take layering and re-recording. Overall, the L12next is an awesome and flexible tool for a home studio, rehearsal space, or live recording rig.
