It’s Part 2 of the Gearnews Holiday Season Raffle! This week, we’re teaming up with the very nice people at Novation to offer you a chance to win a Novation Bass Station II AFX Edition, also known as the AFX Station. It’s an awesome powerhouse of a bass synthesizer designed to make building amazing bass sounds a lot more creative and multi-layered.

A reminder: Every week until 24 December, we’re giving away some cool audio and music gear. There’s something for everyone, including live mics, studio monitors, headphones and instruments. Here’s our Holiday Season 2020 giveaway schedule:

All you have to do to enter the raffle for a Novation AFX Station is to add a comment below this post, or below the Facebook or Instagram post announcing this raffle. Only one comment is allowed per entrant, so please don’t post multiple times or we’ll have to disqualify you. Part 2 of our raffle closes Thursday, 3 December at 23:59:59 CET.

When Robin reviewed the AFX Station for us after its initial release, he called it “a rip-roaringly good analogue monosynth” offering a “completely different way of working with a synthesizer that brings a fresh and exciting intention to patch creation and sound design.”
The AFX Station is a special edition built around the collaboration between Novation and techno legend Richard D James, alias Aphex Twin. Initially conceived as an AFX Mode on the successful Bass Station II, Novation released a special edition focussed on the AFX mode, adding a few features into the mix like some cool glowing controls. “The Aphex Twin mode is so fabulous that they decided to rebrand the Bass Station II around it,” Robin wrote in his review. “Yes, it’s pretty awesome.”
A super-fat-sounding dedicated bass synth with an innovative layer of functionality that will open up your creativity – who doesn’t need one of those? This synth is a Star Destroyer-sized new weapon in your sonic arsenal for creating incredible new bass lines.

Participation is, of course, free of charge.
The minimum age for participation is 14 years. Participation is only allowed once – attempted multiple entries per competition automatically lead to disqualification. This raffle is for a Novation AFX Station.

The Gearnews team will draw a random entry and the lucky winner will be notified by us. Employees of gearnews.com, the participating companies and their family members are excluded from participating in the competition.
Your data will only be stored within the framework of this competition and will not be passed on to third parties. Legal recourse is excluded and no cash alternatives to the prizes are offered. The prizes are not transferable. This competition, with a prize of a Novation AFX Station synthesizer, runs from Friday, 27.11.2020 to Thursday, 3 December 2020 (23:59:59 hrs CET). All comments received after this date are invalid.

I’ve been inspired by RDJ’s music and creative spirit since Surfing on Sine Waves blew my mind and inspired me to take an electro-acoustic course (using Opcode MAX and a TX7 & TX81Z) and electronic music became a lifelong love/obsession (hence visiting this site daily). He keeps pushing the envelope and imo improving his skills and creative output. The AFX Station has some of the unique features I look for (microtonal capability, cv i/o, etc.), but just looks like a fun inspiring piece of gear. If I don’t win, I’ll have to hunt one down. Also looking forward to the next AFX collab novation creation!
