Supro Airwave: Tube Tone Meets Two note Tech
Easily access vintage tones at any volume with the Supro Airwave
The Supro Airwave combines a 25-watt tube amp combo with Two note’s cab sim technology. Could this be the perfect studio amp for capturing vintage-style amp tones?
Supro Airwave
The new Supro Airwave offers the best of old world tube technology and modern day cab simulation with its onboard Two note cab sim hardware. Could this studio-friendly 25W, 1×12 combo be what you need to capture vintage-flavoured amp tones?
Class-A Tube Tone
This compact combo has a 12AX7 tube-driven preamp combined with a Class-A 6V6 output tube power section. It has a built-in Boost, Drive, Tremolo (with controls for Speed & Depth), and Reverb, along with a 3-band EQ section and a master volume.
DynIR cab simulation
Players can easily switch between two banks of six cab sim presets using a rotary switch, thanks to the Two notes DynIR cab simulation system. These presets are fully customisable or replaceable with your own via the Two notes Torpedo Airwave software.
Great for Studio & Stage
This makes it both a great tool for studio and stage, as users can now tailor the output for DAWs or front of house, without having to deal with microphones, and all via stereo XLR outputs.
For live performances, the Airwave connects directly to any FOH console via XLR, ensuring you sit perfectly in the mix. Its 12” Celestion BD12 speaker can remain active for pushing air or be muted for silent stage setups when using in-ear monitors.
At home, you can use headphones and practice with access to all the cab sims, making this amp a great all-around solution.
Cab Simulations
The Airwave comes loaded with twelve studio-grade cabinet simulations, captured at New York City’s legendary Hit Factory. Six of these are vintage Supro cabs, while the other six are modern, offering players a simple way to sculpt their tone. Supro states you can dive into the old-school warmth of a Vintage Oahu, the vivid chime of a Custom Delegate 1×12, and more.
It does make this combo amp very appealing, and the demo videos all give a nice overview of what you can achieve, so they are worth watching.
Price & Availability
The official price point is $1499, and they are available to order at Thomann now. I can see them being a great solution for many players, as you can practice quietly at home, record to your DAW, or go and blast it live. Which makes this a very versatile vintage-voiced tube amp.
