SSL Acoustifier
The Acoustifier plugin is a DI-to-microphone processor designed exclusively for acoustic guitar signals. If you’re a songwriter, composer, or producer who uses acoustic guitars in your music, you’ll know that writing a great guitar part is sometimes easier than getting the perfect sound. Without a professionally treated acoustic space and a selection of mics and preamps, you can easily be left with a mediocre sound in your home studio.
This is where the Acoustifier plugin comes in. SSL has considered each link in the signal chain and provided ways to emulate different guitars, microphones, and mic techniques, as well as processing tools like compression, EQ, and reverb. There are four different acoustic guitar models, including two different dreadnought models, a jumbo body model, and a concert/soloist model.
This allows you to either match your favourite guitar sound for authenticity or find a new sound that better serves the song you’re creating. Next, you have a choice of dynamic, condenser, and ribbon microphones, which can be used in stereo XY or AB spaced pair configurations. This allows you to experiment and even mimic the recording style of a particular era.
The Acoustifier is also loaded with processing tools, including a compressor that can be placed after the reverb (room, hall, plate, and chamber), as well as a ducking effect to merge the reverb with the dry signal, and a stereo width control to increase the overall impact.
