These three new Solar Guitars Canibalismo models will certainly turn heads when you take them out of their cases, as this new line uses a hand-painted blood spatter finish.

This new Jackson Pollock-style paint spatter finish is described by Solar Guitars as a ‘hand-painted blood spatter, so expect random and eye-catching. The finish has been applied to two of their A style models, the A1.6SOP and the A2.6FRPN, plus the V style V1.6AOP.

A1.6SOP Canibalismo

This  A1.6SOP Canibalismo features a swamp ash body, with a three-piece, set-through 25.5″ scale length C-shaped maple neck, with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with a single Solar inlay on the 12th fret.

Hardware includes an EverTune bridge,  Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots, and Solar 18:1 locking tuners. You get a set of two Duncan Solar humbucking pickups, controlled by a single volume control and a five-way blade switch. The guitar comes in a Silver Open Pore Canibalismo finish.

RRP – USD 1199

A2.6FRPN Canibalismo

The A2.6FRPN Canibalismo comes in a Pink Neon Canibalismo matte finish. Under that eye-catching paint job, it has a mahogany body, and a three-piece 25.5″ scale length maple set neck with a thin C profile. You get an ebony fretboard and 24 frets, and the usual Solar 12th fret inlay.

Hardware includes two Duncan Solar pickups controlled via a single volume control and a five-way blade switch. Hardware includes a set of  Solar 18:1 tuners and a Floyd Rose Special tremolo bridge, all in black.

V1.6AOP Canibalismo

This V-Style model has a swamp ash body, a 25.5″ scale length, thin C profile three-piece set maple neck, and a 24-fret ebony fretboard. The V1.6AOP Canibalismo features a set of Duncan Solar humbuckers controlled using a single volume control and a three-way toggle switch.

It has a set of Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots, Solar 18:1 locking tuners, plus an EverTune bridge and all-black hardware. The Army Green Open Pore Canibalismo finish really suits the shape, and I think the ‘drab green’ works well on this one.

These guitars have an interesting finish, but (paraphrasing) what customer wants is MAPLE VENEER without burst on a TYPE-S guitar with Evertune and HSS configuration. Just look at what guitars you need to wait for on Sweetwater. I am waiting for this kind of release from Solar and will buy it in 5 minutes.
