The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is Nothing’s new flagship wireless headphones, with its signature futuristic aesthetic and impressive specs.
As with its smartphone devices, when Nothing entered the over-ear headphone game, the manufacturer aimed to disrupt the market and compete with major brands like Apple and Sony. While the Headphone (1) Pro outperforms the AirPods Max in almost every area, there is one simple question that arises from the comparison. Would you wear square headphones?
Nothing Headphone (1) Pro
The Headphone (1) Pro is a considerable step up from the Headphone (1), with a three-way driver system for enhanced detail and improved balance throughout the frequency range. Within the triple driver array, each one handles a different part of the spectrum. So, the 40mm low-end driver works between 20 and 10,000 Hz, while the precision dynamic driver covers 5 to 15 kHz, and the xMEMS tweeter works from 10-40 kHz.
In addition, the Headphone (1) Pro supports Hi-Res Audio wireless playback up to 24-bit 96kHz over Bluetooth 6.1 and lossless playback up to 24-bit 192kHz over USB-C, while the standard 3.5 mm wired connection delivers up to 24-bit 96kHz playback, across a wide range of consumer devices, including in-flight multimedia systems on commercial airlines.
The new driver system also improves the spatial audio experience when combined with the Headphone (1) Pro’s more refined algorithm and dynamic head tracking. You can choose between a range of preset spatial profiles, including Standard, Club, Concert Hall, Live House, and Studio B, which was developed in collaboration with Metropolis Studios.
This collab also led to the development of a more neutral Flat EQ mode, as well as five genre-specific EQ settings developed by British artists and producers. With its 10-mic ANC system, the cancellation is more precise, and AI-assisted processes work in real time to deliver the best results based on your surroundings. Overall, with a more premium comfort fit, enhanced audio quality, and 30 hours of ANC playback time (68 hours without ANC), the only question remains whether you like the look of the design or not.
