More Information

Massimizer by Emphaseas and Pretender is a hard-hitting sidechain compressor plugin designed for extreme loudness enhancement without clipping. The developer says that it can push your tracks to the limit without sacrificing dynamics and detail.

Massimizer gives you a choice of three sidechain modes: RingmodCompress, and Combined. You can of course adjust the Attack, Release, Threshold, and Ratio to fine-tune the compression. There’s also a Mix knob that lets you dial in the desired blend of compression and ring modulation in Combined mode. Massimizer even offers a stereo width control.

The plugin comes with comprehensive visualization. In addition to a tempo-synced waveform view, there’s a multi-functional input and output level meter that works in RMS, Peak, and LUFS-M modes, as well as a goniometer for phase analysis.

Massimizer is available in VST3 and AU formats for Windows and macOS.

More Information

Overdrive by VZtec from Argentina is a digital recreation of the company’s analog guitar pedal of the same name. According to the developer, the plugin faithfully captures the behavior of the analog circuits. Like the pedal, it has a Voice switch that gives you a choice of several colors ranging from wide, transparent tones to a punchy, screamer-like midrange and from clean booster-type tones to compressed distortion sounds.

In addition to Volume and Gain controls, Overdrive offers a 2-band EQ for tone shaping. For more aggressive tones, flick the Stack switch to activate a second stage of clipping.

Overdrive is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux in VST3, AU, AAX, and LV2 formats.

More Information

According to the developer Tukan Dance, Rocket Flanger is the only flanger plugin with a tempo range that goes all the way to 512 beats. This makes it perfect for slow and evolving flanger sweeps, for example to create exciting transitions in your music or give your tracks a psychedelic, spaced-out feel. But it can also deliver fast, swirling effects.

The controls are simple: Besides the all-important Tempo knob, Rocket Flanger has a Feedback slider for adding resonance, and a Mix control for dialing in the desired amount of effect. A great-sounding flanger plugin, especially for electronic music!

Rocket Flanger is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.
