Look Mum No Computer is Now a Computer Game: A RPG Shooter With Lots of Music!
Fans of LMNC and Retro Games Will Love This Twin-Stick Shooter Action RPG
Some of you have probably been looking forward to this: the Look Mum No Computer computer game is now available! It doesn’t run on a C64, Amiga – belated happy birthday! – or ATARI ST, but rather on a computer with macOS, Windows, or Linux, or alternatively on a Steam Deck. With its pixel graphics, the game looks very cool and is a wild mix of RPG, shooter, and, of course, contains lots of music.
Look Mum No Computer – The Computer Game
Turning Look Mum No Computer into a computer game is a brilliant idea that is almost obvious. What better medium could there be for transporting us into Sam Battle’s universe?
The British artist is a synthesizer fanatic, an electronics and computer nerd, and a passionate musician. All of these interests come together in a brightly colored way in the video game, which is now available.
So, what is Look Mum No Computer, the game that actually requires a computer, all about? The official description calls it a “twin-stick shooter action RPG” where music meets chaos. Your task is to craft synthesizer modules to obtain new weapons while experimenting with Look Mum No Computer’s music.
You’ll also encounter various NPCs, complete quests, and defeat bosses.
Interactive Soundtrack
The soundtrack in Look Mum No Computer is dynamic and interactive. You mix it together from the items you find. In the video above, Sam Battle explains the concept and technical implementation in more detail. After all, the goal is to teach you something, too.
Incidentally, the game was developed by the German team The Bitfather and distributed by Headup Games.
Anyone who has seen videos of the game or pictures of it will immediately recognize characters and objects from the LMNC universe. Of course, one or two famous instruments are referenced in their own special way in the game.
In short, Look Mum No Computer looks like a lot of fun and should appeal to fans of LMNC, music, and retro games alike. Donkey Kong Bananza will have to wait a little longer!
