Do you still long for those warm plate or snappy gate reverbs from the 80’s? Here’s a developer that goes by the name It Might Get Loud with a new plug-in out that might be exactly what you’re looking for. It’s called 1989Verb and it looks so unapologetically 80’s, it won’t seem out of place in a Tears For Fears video!

Iconic looks aside, 1989Verb packs plenty of algorithms to get you grinning as you browse the various presets. There are reverse reverbs, re-gens, tap delays, flangers, blooms, stereo wideners and anything else making up a part of that unmistakeable sound. There are also HiPass and LoPass filters to get rid of unwanted booming or high frequency content.

All in all, this is a capable reverb which I will be using for time-appropriate sounds… Besides, it just looks cool, doesn’t it?

Price & availability

1989Verb is available for 20 EUR excl. VAT in VST, AU, and AAX formats. That’s certainly not a lot to pay for a capable reverb like this.
