A new addition to the Augmented series, Arturia Augmented Grand Piano is an instrument plug-in that combines high-quality recorded and processed samples with a versatile synthesis engine.

Like most Arturia instruments, the aim is to place creative power at your fingertips with a user-friendly approach that doesn’t require too much prior knowledge or experience.

Working with Arturia Augmented Grand Piano

That being said, Augmented Grand is equipped with every feature you’d expect in a high-end sampling plug-in. From layering to synthesis and effects, there are different ways to approach the instrument and expand the possibilities of the piano as the name suggests.

Centered around the Layers tab, the workflow of Augmented Grand begins with two dual-layer engines. This gives you a choice of 4 synth or sample-based sound sources. From here, you can immediately access the filter and envelope of each of the two layers which is a great starting point for sound creation.

Once you’ve got the core components of your sound, you can move into macros, modulations, morphing, and effects. Whether you prefer the surgical precision of your DAW‘s automation lanes or you’re more live performance-oriented in your approach, there are both short and long-term ways to evolve your sound.

Overall, Augmented Grand Piano offers an intuitive interface for manipulating piano sounds. If you’re a “make it from scratch” sound designer or a patch library shark, it brings you new sounds that are relevant in many forms of music production.

Pricing and availability:

Augmented Grand Piano is currently available directly from Arturia at a price of $99.
