More Information

Developer JMG Sound has released Hyperspace Core, a free entry version of the fantastic Hyperspace reverb. While it doesn’t offer all the bells and whistles of the full version, Hyperspace Core is a very versatile and great-sounding algorithmic reverb that makes it easy to design the sounds you need.

Like the full version ($149), Hyperspace Core is designed to give you an amazing amount of control over the reverb without getting too technical. In addition to the essential reverb parameters such as time, size, damping, pre-delay, and mix, you’ll find a filter and tilt EQ for sound shaping. Like to get creative? Experiment with the Resonate, Inertia, Focus, and Duck controls to craft unique reverb textures. There’s even an X/Y pad that lets you morph between different settings, which can also be automated.

Hyperspace Core is available for macOS and Windows in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats. You’ll need to create a user account at United Plugins and “buy” a license for $0 to download it.

More Information

Tiagolr just keeps them coming. Hot on the heels of TIME-12 and GATE-12, the developer is back with FILT-R, a very cool animated filter plugin once again inspired by tools like Shaperbox. FILT-R lets you choose between six multimode filter types: linear, Sallen-Key, Moog, 303, MS-20, and Phaser. You can then draw shapes and patterns to modulate the cutoff and resonance using the same powerful curve editor as in Tiagolr’s other plugins.

What’s especially cool is that you can create up to 12 different patterns and trigger them using MIDI notes, which makes FILT-R an amazing performance tool. There’s also an audio trigger mode and an envelope follower, so the filter can react to your input signal. Needless to say, everything syncs to your song tempo. A must-have if you like to get creative with filters!

FILT-R is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux in VST3, AU, and LV2 formats.

4drX StereoMixer: All Things Stereo

More Information

StereoMixer by 4drX Plugins is a stereo tool and re-panner that lets you quickly solo and monitor the left and right channels of a mix without changing your panning settings. You can also sum the left and right channels in both speakers (L+R), or subtract the channels to cancel mono parts panned to the center.

According to 4drX, the plugin was specifically designed for practice backing tracks such as the popular Aebersold series, which feature individual instruments in both channels. StereoMixer lets you focus on specific elements without fiddling with the panning. But I can think of many mixing and monitoring situations where this tool would come in handy.

StereoMixer is available for macOS and Windows in VST, AU, and AAX formats.
