PAC-MAN Player II Telecaster
Following the recent Godzilla collaboration, Fender has now partnered with an ’80s arcade game classic.
Based on the Player II series Telecaster, this limited-edition PAC-MAN Player II Telecaster features retro graphics front and back! Perfect for ’80s arcade game fans and lovers of anyone who has ever navigated PAC-MAN around a maze, while trying to power up with a Power Pellet and also trying to avoid the ghosts, Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde!
I spent untold amounts of change as a kid playing this game, so its retro aesthetic appeals to me on that level. Plus, I am the proud owner of a custom ‘Space Invaders RG550‘, so retro gaming graphics are my thing!
Specifications
The guitar specifications include an alder body, a maple Modern “C”– Shaped neck with a rosewood fretboard, and 22 medium jumbo frets. It’s a fairly modern Telecaster spec, so it will have broader appeal to players who need modern comforts.
A pair of Player Series Alnico 5 Tele single-coil pickups comes fitted to this model, and it has a modern 6-saddle string-through-body Tele bridge.
Web Exclusive
It is a Fender web exclusive model and appears to be currently available only on their UK store, priced at £949. They state it is also a limited edition, so if you do want one, you may want to act fast, as they haven’t stated how many will be made available.
I think the all-over-printed graphic looks well done (it even has the PAC-MAN logo on the rear), so if you like retro gaming or love PAC-MAN, this collectible model could be for you.
MSRP – £949 includes Fender Deluxe Gig Bag
