The Chase Bliss Lost + Found is the latest Small Batch release, following the Reverse Mode C from the same run —a pedal that is also now available in a new color scheme.
Chase Bliss Lost + Found: Twelve effects with 144 possible combinations
Chase Bliss Lost + Found features twelve effects in six categories, all available in stereo and with 144 possible effect combinations. This multi-effect pedal will keep you busy for quite some time, so it is perfect for anyone who enjoys experimenting with sound.
Inspired by Joel Korte’s first multi-effect unit, the Zoom RP200, and his love for the manipulation of effects with digital controls (and lots of DIP switches). I love Joel’s designs and his whole ethos, as do many pedal junkies, so I can see this one being a must-have for many Chase Bliss fans.
Left and right channels can be assigned to different effects and effect mixes. The individual effects are accessed via two three-way switches and a continuously variable A/B control called Modify.
Effect Categories
Category 1 contains two reverbs: Slow-Verb, modeled on popular shoegaze reverb effects, which beautifully wobbles and meanders.
Effect 1B is a “useful” ambient reverb with less modulation and a clearer decay. So, if you select Category 1 and turn the left Modify knob to A, you’ll only hear the slow reverb in the left stereo channel. Turning the knob to the right would result in the ambience reverb.
In between, there are countless stages where you can mix two effects. Then you can play further with the Blend knob. This appears to be using some of the Chase Bliss Clean in a single control knob format.
Pitch, phaser, delay, synth, and lo-fi
Category 2 includes two pitch effects: Orchestral Swell and Pitch Repeater. Category 3 also includes two modulation effects: Pinging Phaser and Spectral Modulator.
Category 4 includes a tape delay and a granular delay called Grain Tumbler, which brings a touch of the aforementioned Reverse Mode C to the Chase Bliss Lost + Found. Then we come to the four effects that truly transform the multi-effect into a Weirdness Machine.
Category 5 brings two synth pedal effects to the pedalboards of the world: Impulse Synthesizer and Sympathetic Resonator.
And in the last category, Ensemble Expander and Gen Lite (a mini version of Gen Loss) add a couple of
lofi-type effects.
DIP Switches and Freeze
For each effect, the functions that change the available controls vary. For example, Time changes the reverb time, delay time, and the phaser changes the number of all-pass stages. Of course, each control also has a secondary function, which can be accessed by pressing both footswitches.
In this mode, the Mix control determines the intensity of the spill (how much the effect set on the left is also heard on the right). The two footswitches, by the way, are responsible for activating the left and right separately. And if you hold down the button on one side, it activates the freeze effect.
A series of DIP switches allows you to swap the left or right channel, for example (i.e., if you swap only one side, you’ll hear an effect on both sides).
Trails and the signature MISO (mono-to-stereo) function are also included on the Chase Bliss Lost + Found.
Price
As always, they’re available only through the company’s online shop. Once they have the total amount of orders, they will build the ‘small batch’ and so there is a limited time ot order.
