Introduced back in 2019, the Avantis series offers an intuitive touchscreen-controlled mixing system with low-latency 96 kHz XCVI FPGA core processing, in a choice of two sizes with either 12 or 24 faders, with 6 layers providing a total of 72 or 144 fader strips.

These flexible touring consoles have been upgraded to the Ultra series, which offers a number of advantages through the Avantis V2.0 system update. From the original 42 bus architecture, the Avantis Ultra (and Ultra Solo) now features 56 buses for routing, processing, or grouping channels across the 16 DCAs. The Ultra series comes loaded with the dPack software processing suite, which was initially a $1,600 optional upgrade. This enables a total of 96 processing channels for even more flexibility.

More Information

This range of DEEP dynamics processors includes zero-latency emulations of classic gear such as the 1176, LA-2A, dbx 160, and the SSL G bus compressor. In addition, this also includes the Dyn8 4-band dynamic EQ and multiband compressor, which can be used in up to 24 instances, as well as the NEQ12 12-band EQ for precise shaping of in-ear monitor mixes. Also, there is a new Comp Stortion processor, modelled on the famous EL8 Distressor.

Of course, the primary benefit of the new Ultra series is the RackUltra FX system, which was a $2,000 hardware upgrade for the flagship dLive series MixRacks. This provides eight additional RackUltra FX processing engines, each with dedicated stereo sends and returns, as well as dynamics and EQ on both the input and output stages.
